Power Act Webinar for District Courts in the Ninth Circuit

The POWER Act aims to shine a light on the problems of domestic violence in each of our communities as well as the disproportionate violence suffered by American Indian and Alaska Native women.  POWER Act programs also highlight the opportunities to provide pro bono legal services to domestic violent victims.

This year’s POWER Act program will feature a dynamic panel of tribal judges, lawyers, and service providers who will address the challenges and opportunities of joint state/tribal law enforcement; the jurisdiction and sovereignty of American Indian persons, tribes, and courts; and the incorporation of American Indian culture into court process and law enforcement.
