Alternative Dispute Resolution

The district court encourages the use of alternative dispute resolution to reduce the expense and the stress of litigation. The local Alaska ADR rule is D.Ak. L.R. 16.2. The court may mandate ADR in a particular case, and generally will assist parties wanting to voluntarily participate in ADR by providing the assistance of a district or magistrate judge not assigned to the case to act as the neutral.
